Guide: Appropriate to hire a guide or better yet, walk with a group particularly if this will be the first time to traverse the trail.
Essentials: Take enough drinking water (atleast 2-3 litres/person), some eatables, sun protection cream, cap/goggles and good trekking shoes.
Safety: Only hike on the marked trails, be careful when crossing a rocky area, and be very careful when crossing a stream in the monsoon.

Itinerary

Day 1: Schedule for Pune

Route Starting in Pune
5:00 AM: The Trekleaders meet at Fergusson College’s main gate.
05:20 AM: Congregate at the Shivneri Bus Stop, Bremen Chowk.
Pickups from the Wakad-Hinjewadi Flyover near the Sukhwani Indian Oil Petrol Pump begin at 5:30 AM.
Get to the base village at 8:00 AM and have breakfast.
09:00 AM: After getting a briefing and instructions from the trek leaders, begin the hike through the Andharban Forest.
12:00 PM: Arrive at the intersection of Hirdi and Ghutke Village and stop for a rest.
12:30 PM: Carry on walking in the direction of Ghutke Village.
Reach Ghutke Village by 3:00 PM, then catch the bus to the base village.
04:00 PM: Arrive at the trek’s base village and have a vegetarian thali meal.
6:00 PM: Start the trip back to Pune
08:00 PM: Arrive in Pune (arrival time depends on traffic and weather conditions).

Schedule For Andharban Trip

Day 1 – Pickup From Mumbai

Meet at Borivali Public Park and join the Trekleaders at 10:00 PM.

At 10:05 PM accumulate at Samta Nagar Kandivali.

By 10:50 PM Visit the Sufi Irani bistro in Goregaon.

Then by 10:30 PM Meet at Hanuman Street Transport Stop, Andheri.

By 10:45 PM Accumulate at Kalanagar Transport stop, Bandra.

At 11:00 PM Meet at Neeta Volvo, Sion.

By 11:00 PM Accumulate at Ghatkopar, Mankhurd, Connection Street.

At 11:30 PM Meet Under the Scaffold in Vashi.

By 11:45 PM Assemble at Nerul LP.

11:55 PM Meet at Kharghar Station.


Day 2 – Visit  the Andharban

Meet at Kalamboli McD at 12:15 AM.
Reach the base village at 03:00 AM and have a nap on the bus.
05:30 AM: Get up and showered.
6 A.M.: Savor your breakfast.
7:00 AM: After getting a briefing and instructions from the trip leaders, begin the hike through the Andharban Forest.
10:00 AM: Arrive at the intersection of Hirdi-Ghutke Village and stop for a rest.
10:30 AM: Carry on walking in the direction of Ghutke Village.
1:00 PM: Reach Ghutke settlement, where you will board a bus to Pimpri, the base settlement.
2:00 PM: Arrive at the base village, where the hike begins, and eat a vegetarian thali for lunch.
04:00 PM: Start the trip back to Mumbai.
10:00 PM: Reach Mumbai (time of arrival subject to traffic and weather).
